Briana has to sell 1,925 more boxes of
Girl Scout cookies to reach her goal... :

Relaxation – that is what it is all about. At least that is what today was about. We took advantage of the weather. We took a rainy day today. Comfort food, blankets, movies, and snuggles. We watched Lifetime movies of course. I started to watch the Golden Globes but Bobby wasn’t feeling it. I had to turn it off. No worries, I DVR’d it to watch at a later time. I did get to see how uncomfortable Jennifer Aniston looked up there… odd.

Bobby, Baby Dominic, and I are lounging around on the couch. We are watching the Natalie Halloway story on Lifetime – so very sad. Stories like this make me want all my children close to home at all times. I know that is not possible. It’s just scary letting go. My son is 14 and that is enough for me right now. I can’t imagine what it is going to be like when he turns 18…

That is too much to think about. On that note, I think I’m going to do some more relaxing for the rest of the night because it’s kind of nice. Didn’t do any cookie selling today… there is no school tomorrow so we have a plan. We’ll see – she claims she is too shy to sell them. Goodnight.

Briana has to sell 1,936 more boxes of Girl Scout cookies to reach her goal... :

Today was good. We got to get out of the house! We went to a family member’s 3rd birthday party. Briana had a great time with all the other little kids. She even got some of the adults to buy Girl Scout cookies J They served yummy tri-tip sandwiches. Note to self: don’t ever forget to buy a present ahead of time. The selection was slim at our local CVS store and what they did have was over-priced for what it was. We ended up getting her a cute little Fisher Price doctor kit.

After the party we finally went out to Bobby’s grandma’s house. Let me tell you, it’s been a long time a coming. We have been saying since before Christmas that we needed to get over there. She only lives like five miles away. So we were finally able to give her the Christmas present we got her. It was a nice visit. Grandma loved getting to see and hold Dominic. She’d only seen him once when he was a couple weeks old. He had no problem holding a “conversation” with her.

Since we found out I was pregnant we have been trying to locate a picture of Bobby when he was an infant. At first, we wanted to see what our baby could look like. Nobody knew where one was. Then, when we found out he was a boy, we really wanted a picture because our baby had a good chance of looking like him. There was not one to be found. Then, after our baby Dominic was born, we wanted to compare them… still nothing – until today! Grandma had tracked one down. Dominic and Bobby look so much alike as babies! It’s adorable. AND the picture is from when Bobby was three months old. Dominic is two and a half weeks. There will be a picture to come. Sit tight.

I found some important information today. Tons of products have been recalled including Benadryl, Tylenol, St. Josephs, and Rolaids. I had to check mine out to see if they could possibly be one of them. We are in the clear, are you? You should check for yourself if you have any of these. You can find the recalls at this website:

There is quite a neat website out there. It will take you back, way back to the beginning of time. Well virtual time. It is an Internet Archive called Wayback Machine. You can type in the website you would like to view and voila there it is, a complete listing of dates related to that website. Choose a date and it will show you how that web page looked on that day. It can take you back to the beginning of MySpace… that was funny! It really shows us how far the internet has gone. I think it could be a fun time waster. Check it out for yourself and let me know what you think. Click below to visit the “Wayback Machine.”

The baby’s bottles must be washed before heading to bed; therefore, I must go now. Goodnight.

The alarm went off at 7:15 am and I got up! I hopped in the shower, got ready, washed Dominic’s bottles, and packed his diaper bag for our day. The maintenance man at the apartments got here at 8 am to fix the water heater. We were out of here shortly after 8:30. We had the pleasure of going to my mom’s for breakfast. She cooked Bobby and I eggs, biscuits, sausage, and hash browns. It was yummy. I provided the orange juice. J

We had to leave there to take Dominic to the Doctor’s office in Willows. Turns out he is just testing us with all his little quirks. She says he seems to be teething; however, what we see on his gums may not necessarily be a tooth… hmmm? Only time will tell. I’m not sure how I am going to get a picture of what we see. The little guy will barely let us get a good look at it. I’ll keep working on that.

We did go back to my mom’s. She is in the dark when it comes to computers. Bobby ends up “fixing” it every couple of months. She lets my 20 year old brother use it – and who knows what he is doing on there. Anyway, it was running super slow. Dr. Bobby came to the rescue. By the point of leaving my mom’s we were so exhausted. We still are. It’s almost midnight but we are headed to bed here pretty quickly.

Today is the official day that my six year old, Briana, has started taking orders for Girl Scout cookies. We have been working on it from home today and I have to say I’m impressed by what we have ordered so far. I can only imagine how many orders we will get when we actually start trying to sell them. We will be out and about in the town of Orland tomorrow. Get a hold of me if you are interested in ordering some cookies. They are so yummy!

Well it is off to bed I go. I actually forgot all about my blog today. Bobby reminded me a minute ago. I’m so tired; I didn’t want to do it. But it was a New Year resolution and about the only one I have been consistent with so far. I figured I had better keep up with it and keep clear of disappointment. Off to count cookies I go – I mean sheep…  goodnight.

Something came over me today. I was so hungry and I wanted something yummy for dinner. So I set off to the grocery store not knowing exactly what I was going to buy. I just started roaming the store, putting things in my cart until I came up with a meal. We ended up with white rice, teriyaki chicken cooked with garlic and bell pepper, broccoli, teriyaki sesame noodles, and egg rolls. It was pretty good! First elaborate meal I have cooked in a while.

Guess what? We’re not 100% sure but we’re thinking that baby Dominic is getting his first tooth already! He will only be ten weeks this Saturday. It’s kind of crazy but we see white and feel something… but it’s up top. I thought babies usually get their bottom teeth first but every baby is different. I’ve even heard of babies being born with teeth! He’s been super fussy and had some eye things going on so he has an appointment at 10 in the morning… I’m going to have her take a look at his teeth, just to be sure. I’ll let you know and of course post a picture.
J

It is almost midnight and I really should be in bed. We have an early morning tomorrow. Our maintenance man here at the apartments is coming to replace our water heater at 8 am! That means I have to be up, showered, and all the bottles washed because he will have to shut the water off. We will see how that goes. I haven’t had to be up and ready that early for quite some time.

Being that it is so late, I think it’s time for bed… no website review tonight. I’m going to finish watching this episode of Reba then I’m off to bed – maybe. I’m kind of not tired… that is not good.

It was a different day today than usual. Bobby decided today was the day for painting the bathroom; therefore, baby Dominic and I went to my mom’s house across town while the fumes lingered throughout the house. It was nice to hang out at my mom’s for a while. It’s been too long since I have been over there. We don’t take Dominic out of the house too much (he’s still little) so this was the first time he went to Grandma’s house. He didn’t mind it. My mom even made me breakfast – eggs, sausage, & biscuits. J
Picture

That is one thing I miss about being a kid and living at home – her cooking. Okay, maybe that is not the only thing. Sometimes I miss not having so many responsibilities too. I remember when I was a little girl, my mom would tell me I’d better watch her cook so I could learn. She always preached to me that one day I would need to know how to cook. She was right and why didn’t I listen? Now I’m stuck cooking the more simple meals and Bobby is the chef of the family. Maybe it gets better with age…

So I was browsing the internet today and came across a picture of Mischa Barton (from The OC). They were targeting her weight gain. Is this really necessary? Personally, I think she looks healthier with a little extra weight on her. Granted, the leggings might not be doing much for her but all in all she looks as the wind might not sweep her away anymore. What do you think (besides the fact that Hollywood makes way too big of a deal about celebrity’s weight)?
Picture
Is it really that big of a deal?
So I found a quirky website this time. It’s one of those “when you’re bored” websites. To me, New Year resolutions tend to be routine and usually the same every year. There is lose weight, eat healthy, exercise, etc. Wouldn’t it be fun to add some more unique resolutions (and realistic ones…) to your list? Well there is a website that generates random resolutions. If you don’t like the one they give you, just press the “gimme more” button and they’ll give you another one. Click on the picture below to visit their site and find out for yourself. My first one said “eat a mango.” I never eat them. Maybe I’ll have to try one. Let me know if you get anything worth attempting.

Time to close up… wonder what tomorrow will bring…. Goodnight.

Today I spent some time thinking about what in the world I could focus on within this blog. Time was spent thinking, brainstorming, and browsing the internet. Consistency is the key. It’s seems difficult to find something that I am passionate enough to write about every day and remain consistent. I’m assuming that at some point you all will get tired of reading about my day and what is going on. It’s not that I’m not passionate about things – I guess I’m just confused. I suppose I will figure it out over time.

My morning was different today. It seems that for this morning at least, Bobby and I swapped roles. He did get up with baby Dominic at 4 am. But then I got up at 7:00 and stayed up. Bobby got up and got Briana off to school while I fed Dominic. Then he went back to sleep – until after 11 am. I attempted to lay down with Dominic – that didn’t work. Every time I put him down or moved he would squirm and wake up. Sleep was not an option for me (neither was brushing my teeth). Let’s just say I have a new appreciation for my amazing fiancé, Bobby, and everything that he does for me.
I love him!

This is love.
So I have been slowly researching this while clipping coupon thing and saving money. My goal is to eventually make a shopping trip and pay nothing. Today I sat down with the CVS advertisement and found things I needed. Then I went online to try and find coupons. The coupon thing wasn’t too successful. I only found one (good thing I had some other ones). Anyway, I ended up getting a few things that were not on my list but they were on sale. This is what I got:

5 rolls of Christmas wrapping paper
10 gift boxes
1 very small bag of Christmas candy
3 boxes of Christmas card
2 Christmas gift tags
1 Bottle of Pantene Shampoo
1 Bottle of Pantene Conditioner
1 Bottle of Purex laundry detergent
1 Bottle of 60 count Tums

With the coupons I had my total came to $13.31 after tax; however, I did receive $3.00 in CVS bucks to use with my next shopping trip. Personally, I think it was a pretty good deal. Usually, the shampoo, conditioner and laundry detergent would’ve come to $13.00. My receipt says I saved $65.12!!! I’m proud.

Nothing. That is about what if feels like that I have done today. The dishes did get done and I have been trying to find all these blogging tips and tricks. Just give me time – I will get there. If any of you have suggestions, please feel free to comment or click on the “contact me” tab. I will take what I can get.

Dominic, Bobby, and I went on a little drive while the older two children were at school. We went over to Bobby’s mom’s house to say hello for a few minutes. Then we went through the drive thru of Dutch Bros. It’s necessary that I indulge in their Candy Cane Mocha at least a couple of more times before they give it the boot at the end of this month. Is that really necessary? It’s the yummiest thing on their menu.

So I absolutely admire  Dr. Phil. He offers valuable advice and is an overall genuine person. A week or so ago, I was browsing his website on topics they were looking to book guests for. Never would I consider going on some trashy talk show – but Dr. Phil is far from trashy. I came across “Good People. Bad Credit.” Unfortunately, that is us. I wish it weren’t. I filled out their form and off it went. I forgot all about it. Then I got an email today from the show. They found my story compelling! Could this be? Should we be ashamed of our current situation and pass this opportunity up? Do we swallow our pride and take this as a stepping stone to free ourselves out of this hole? Maybe my fear and anxiety are getting the best of me. Something has got to lead me in the right direction. My ‘additional information’ email the production assistant requested is all ready to be sent out… and I’ll probably send it. I guess I’m just waiting for that push. It better hurry before they move on to someone else…

If you are a parent, I’m sure there have been times when you just aren’t sure about something, you need advice, or you just don’t know where to find resources for parents. Many people have mentioned this website to me while I was pregnant and, by the time I would get to a computer, I would forget what it was. Then I went to a doctor’s appointment and they told me about it. This time I wrote it down. It’s called Baby Center and you can visit their website by clicking below. Let me know how much you like it. J

I’m hoping that I am not getting sick. My chest feels not so good… maybe I will wake up in the morning and it will have disappeared. Anyway, time to go. Goodnight…

Guess what? The living room furniture is officially all moved around. I got off pretty easy. The only thing I was needed to assist with was taking the TV off of the wall mount and then helping raise it back on later. Dominic and I got to spend the day together instead. We hung out in the bedroom most of the day. I watched The Heartbreak Kid with Ben Stiller. I had already seen it before but it was on. So I watched it.

I’m pretty sure it’s been a really long time since I have gone so long without a shower. When I woke up this morning I was so hungry I needed to eat first. Bobby was sweet enough to make me some eggs and toast. Shortly after I ate, Bobby wanted to start moving furniture and it was time for me to tend to Dominic. We had a good day of bonding. Briana hung out with us a while – before she went to grandma’s for a couple hours.

Briana was finally happy this morning with the Tooth Fairy. The Tooth Fairy sure was on top of it with her first tooth she lost earlier in the week… but with her second one that fairy was slacking. Hmmm… do I refer to the Tooth Fairy as a male or female? Let’s go with female. Anyway, she forgot to come on Friday night. So Briana got this tooth container thing (rather than a sandwich bag) to put her tooth in. Briana wanted to ensure the Tooth Fairy knew the tooth was in this bigger “tooth.” So she wrote her a note. Good thing the Tooth Fairy can read!

We are watching the 101 Chowdown Countdown on the Travel Channel. This show makes me want to travel around the world just to eat at these unique places. There’s even a place that serves two gallons of ice cream (eight different flavors) with eight sauces and three bananas with cherries on top. It’s all served in a replica of a kitchen sink. J My favorite was this place that served all things chocolate. They even served a small amount of cotton candy on a fork with chocolate powder sprinkled on it. Yummy!

I’m sure you have all heard of the popular website (mostly used by teenagers, I assume)
FML – which stands for “F*** My Life.” This site allows users to submit things that really “screwed” up their lives and if it gets voted in, will be displayed on their website for viewers to read. Well I came across a similar website; however, it’s a bit more positive. It’s IMMD – which stands for “It Made My Day.” These submissions are things that users deemed remarkable. It basically puts a smile on your face rather than feelings of pity. You can visit their website here: http://itmademyday.com/ or you can click on the picture below.

I suppose I am going to relax for a bit before heading to bed… the weekend is over, time for Monday! I’m thinking of trying a new approach to my blogging. I was thinking of maybe posting here and there throughout my day about random things I come across or think about or whatever. I’m not really sure if there is a right or wrong way to do this blogging – I guess I’ll just do it my way, lovely. J

We woke up a little earlier than usual today – I won’t tell you what time or you might be jealous. J My good friend, Teresa, came over this morning and to meet our little Dominic. She brought us a really nice gift and some clothes for Dominic. He liked her. She held him for a while as he talked to her – okay, maybe it was more like coo’ing.

This afternoon we headed to Chico. My kids have a half sister. Today was her Sweet 16 birthday party. My son, Ryan, went; however, Briana hung out with us. After all, they were all big kids. Ryan had a good time. They played Guitar Hero and Ryan says he finally found someone that was almost as good as him. Apparently, he’s the best. He always brags about beating difficult songs while playing on expert level.

After we dropped him off at the party, we headed to In N Out for some burgers and fries. We were starving. When we were finished stuffing our faces, we headed to Toys R Us so Briana could spend her $20 she got for Christmas and her $5 she got from the tooth fairy earlier this week. Briana ended up choosing a baby all decked out in Disney Princess stuff that is made to go into water. It even has a floating device. J

At Toys R Us we also found a good deal on diapers – I think? This is the first time we have had to buy diapers. We have been using the 13 packages we received at the baby shower. We are almost on our last package and I figured it wasn’t a good idea to wait until we ran out. We found a box of 192 diapers (size 1) for $24.98. You tell me, was it a good deal?

After we roamed around Toys R Us for about an hour, we headed over to the mall to look for Briana a new pair of shoes. Her current pairs have seen better days. We found some really cute ones. No matter where we shop for Briana shoes, we always find the cutest ones for her at Payless Shoe Source. I wanted to get her a cute pair of boots; however, everywhere that had them didn’t carry them in her size.
Picture
Briana's new shoes
We don’t go places too often, so at this point we were pretty tired. On our way out of Chico, we buzzed through the drive thru at Starbuck’s. I indulged in a peppermint black and white mocha. Bobby had a Caramel latte. Briana got a hot chocolate. I’m not sure why. We forgot that she is not too fond of hot chocolate from Starbuck’s. After that, it was time to head home.

We had In N Out pretty early today and I was hungry a little while ago. I ate the yummiest sandwich. I had a turkey sandwich with lettuce, cucumbers, avocados, tomatoes, cheese, and garlic & herb cream cheese on a whole wheat “thin bun.” They are these new buns by Earthgrains. They are delicious and healthy!

Yummy Buns!
Instead of sharing a website with you tonight, I am going to let you in on something I love while I’m on the Internet. I love Google Chrome. That is my primary and only web browser that I use. For many years, I relied on Internet Explorer. My fiancé started using Google Chrome and I thought it was lame. After installing it (which takes no time at all) I loved it! You can set your home page to where it opens up and shows you the eight most popular websites that you visit. Then all you do is click on the thumbnail to visit that page. I love it!! You should go get it and try it out here: http://www.google.com/chrome . Let me know what you think.

Anyway, I’m still pretty exhausted from our long day in Chico. Plus, my friend Teresa just dropped off like five more bags of clothes for my son, Dominic. I think I’m going to check them out before heading to bed. J Goodnight all...

So we managed to get the stuff to fully take care of the bathroom. We plan on scrubbing and then painting. We now have the supplies. In other words, it didn’t get done again but it’s on its way. No furniture got moved either. Just so we’re clear, I don’t mind that the furniture didn’t get moved. I’m okay with how it is. Plus, now that I’m not pregnant anymore, I think I might have to actually help move the stuff around. Doesn’t sound very fun if you ask me…

So yesterday I mentioned my daughter, Briana, is going to start selling Girl Scout cookies here pretty soon. There are many different kinds of cookies offered. They include: Lemom Chalet Cremes, Trefoils, Do-si-dos, Samoas, Dulce de Leche, Thank u Berry Munch, Tagalongs, and Thin Mints. Oh how I cannot wait to sink my teeth into those Thin Mint cookies. Anyway, I promised a picture of my little Girl Scout. So here you go – how can you say no?

Speaking of Briana, she just lost her first tooth ever earlier this week. Tonight we put her to bed and minutes later she was hollering that her tooth came out. Her second tooth fell out in within a couple of days of the first one. Actually, she says that she pulled it out. It was right next to the other one so the space is even bigger now. J She is excited and looking forward to the tooth fairy coming tonight. I think she wants more for this one than the last one… we’ll see how the tooth fairly feels about that.

Today went better than I thought it would. We took Dominic this afternoon to his two month check up. He had to have one immunization by mouth and three injections in his legs. He did so good with the first shot – didn’t even cry. With the second and third one, we weren’t so lucky. Surprisingly enough, I did not cry. I was for sure that I would. He got some cute band-aids. We took a quick trip to Wal-Mart afterwards and got him a little toy for being such a good boy. He doesn’t have very many toys so that justifies us not spoiling him. J
Do you ever get tired of hearing about all the bad things in this world? Do you wonder why the media never focuses on the positive things in life and always spotlights the negative things? For some reason, I’m pretty tired tonight. It’s time for me to sleep. I might try to find a little snack first. Bobby and I had an early dinner so we are now getting a little hungry. Don’t worry the kids were fed too. J Our daughter went to Burger King with a friend so I took Ryan through the Drive Thru. It was just easier that way. Goodnight…
